Shinji Totsune 戸恒慎司

- Born in Yachiyo City, Chiba Prefecture Japan

- After studying at Fudan University in Shanghai，Started living in Hong Kong and captured images of Kowloon Walled City.
- 1990
- Moved to Zhongtang Town, Dongguan, Guangdong Province.
- Life was inconvenient—I had to cycle for 20 minutes through banana fields just to buy cigarettes.
- However, I was supported by the kindness of the local people.
- 1992
- I held a photography exhibition titled Kowloon Walled City at Gallery Kelbeam in Ginza.
- 1996
- I relocated to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and traveled across the entire country on a motorcycle obtained in exchange for gold.
- 1999
- I lived in Cochin, Kerala, India. Eating curry every single day eventually became tiresome, but the beautiful scenery of the port town never ceased to amaze me.
- 2007
- As part of a project for the magazine Motorcyclist, I spent a year traveling around Japan by motorcycle while camping outdoors.
- The journey was documented in a 14-part series.
- 2015
- I returned to Tokyo and became the Tokyo bureau chief for the Nankai Nichinichi Shimbun, covering the National Diet.
- 2023
- In collaboration with Yorontown, I planned and managed the entire project for the PR train ‘Keikyu Yoron-go,’ which operated for one month, including overseeing all aspects of the production and photography.
- 2023
- I launched the second run of the ‘Keikyu Yoron-go’ PR train, handling all aspects of the project, including photography and planning.
- 2023
- With support from the Taiwanese Consulate General and China Airlines, I led students from Yamato Junior High School in Yamato Village on a trip to Taiwan, managing the project from planning to execution.

- I became a full member of the Japan Professional Photographers Society(JPS)

- With support from Hong Kong International Airport and Hong Kong Dragon Airlines, I led junior high and high school students from Yorontown on a trip to Hong Kong.

- I began working as an editorial desk editor at the Chiba Nippo newspaper.
